The Beacon
Wherever you may roamIt's the last navigation mark astern when you leave your home port, taking off to visit a certain gas station in Nevada, to quickly get the burnt sandwich out of the toaster, to take the good suit to the dry cleaners, to finish a book started last year, to look over the shoulders of the women weaving linen in Constance, to suck on a raspberry drop, to sit on the banks of the Seine river with a hat but no shirt on, to get on a train to Gdansk, to reach the next church hopping on one leg only, and the first navigation mark ahead when you return to the home port again. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. The service as coaster teaches humility and patience. The Beacon |
